Websites aren’t posters. They are suppose to be dynamic which means they should update themselves as information changes. A well built website should ensure that you don’t have to do anything to keep it running. That is our goal here at The Church Co. We want you to spend less than 15 minutes on your website each week.
Let’s look at events as an example. If you have an event on April 12, let’s call it Easter, you should be able to add a new event, set the dates, add an images and walk away. What happens on April 13th? The website knows that the event is over, so it removes it from your event list. There’s no need to go back and make any more changes. Now if we start using the category system you can really make things efficient. Each Event can be tagged by a ministry so on your Youth page you can add an Events Block that will read in only the upcoming Youth events. Every time you have a new event, you add it, tag it by the ministry and you are done. The ministry page updates with the new event without you doing anything.
Sermons are another great example. Let’s say you have multiple campuses and that they each have their own podcast in iTunes. That’s not a problem. We can set up categories for each sermon. You can upload the audio, tag it by the category and send it to iTunes, Spotify, Google play, and more. Then on the campus page, you can add a Podcast Block and tell it to only read in the messages that are tagged with that campus category. Now going forward, you just upload the audio and select a category. The Campus Landing Pages will automatically update with the latest information. These categories work for everything. Groups, Events, blogs, sermons…
How long does this take to setup?
Well, we actually set all of this up for you for free when you sign up. We can set up tags, categories, ministry pages that read in the right info and more.
It’s important to remember that your time is valuable. A powerful website that gains you time back each week saves your church money by allowing you to focus on other things.
That’s what we are all about, freeing you up to do more to help people find your church.
We’d love to know more about how you are using your website. Chat us if you have any questions.
