Every Sunday, your church creates a hope-filled message that invites people to deepen their connection with God and encourages them toward joining a community of believers they can grow alongside. The more people your sermon reaches, the greater the potential for lives to be transformed and for your church to grow.
We’ve gathered some practical tips to help you expand your reach and boost your church’s online sermon views.
Title Sermons the Way People Search
Help people find your sermons. Consider shifting away from artistic titles and moving toward titles that mirror how people typically search for topics online. For instance, when it comes to a Palm Sunday sermon, which title do you think would be more discoverable? “The Branches of Triumph” or “The Meaning of Palm Sunday“? The latter is more likely to be found by those searching for information about Palm Sunday, as it directly aligns with common Google searches.
Create a Sermons Page
Have a home for your sermons. Crafting a page to house your sermons is incredibly helpful for your congregation to find messages they’ve missed or to rewatch messages they loved. The fresh content each week will also improve your website’s search engine rankings and visibility online. Adding text content to each sermon page, such as the title, a description, notes, or even the transcript, will not only improve the chances of your sermons being found by those searching online but also offer a more engaging experience for your audience.

Upload Sermons to YouTube
Take advantage of YouTube. Not only does YouTube provide free video hosting, it’s also the second-largest search engine and the third most visited website in the world. There’s no better place for your sermons to reach new people than YouTube. If you can, optimize your video with relevant keywords, craft an eye-catching thumbnail, interact with your viewers in the comments, or try adding additional short sermon clips and uploading them as YouTube Shorts.
Share Sermons on Social Media
Spread the word. Sharing your sermons on social media platforms is an excellent way to reach new people and increase the number of people watching your messages. You can share the direct link to the sermon or be creative and share engaging visuals, short sermon clips, or thought-provoking quotes.
Facebook now deletes live videos after 30 days so if you’re still using Facebook to host your sermons, we recommend you find an alternative hosting option and simply use Facebook to share your sermons. For more information check out Facebook’s official announcement.
Promote Sermons using Google Ad Grant
Advertise your sermons for free. All nonprofits, including churches, have an incredible opportunity to reach new people through Google Ad Grants, a program offering up to $10,000 in free monthly advertising. This can be a powerful way to promote your sermons without spending a cent.
